Here go guys. The price of food is going up and other household items going up in price. Couple days ago I posted about the shortage of chicken wings and other items which will be more expensive as the year goes by.

Another recall. There is yet another beef recall. I have to ask myself, why can’t they produce quality products. Seriously! There was a time when there was no recalls because meat was ground when it was ordered. This mass production is stupid.

Coming Shortages
For almost 18 months we have been talking about the shortages coming and the rise in the cost of food. Unfortunately, those of us saying this has been proven right. I get no joy from it because it means we also have to pay more for food. Now the USDA livestock culling we saw almost a year ago, is coming to haunt us in a major way. Restaurants that specialize in Chicken Wings are about to be hit hard. According to the article on Yahoo! News, there is a shortage of chicken wings. What to hell did think was going to happen? The chicken fairy would drop wings in restaurants everywhere. The government ordered a nationwide shutdown of restaurants except for the ones they and their donors visited as we see the Governor of California go to once last year. However, the places we go to well had to shut down off and on last year. Where does that leave us, well-rising food prices around the world, shortages, risk of famines? I would say we are SOL/JWF…

Canned foods you should always have in your pantry
A well stocked pantry will always put food on the table. Seriously! If you can keep your pantry stocked with your essentials you or your family eat, you will always be able to put a meal together with whatever you have in your freezer. If you are vegan or vegetarian, this applies to you as well. Let’s give it a try: red and white kidney beans, tomatoes, broth, pasta and carrots from your fridge. Don’t forget the Italian green beans. There is a Minestrone soup. Pluse since it’s a soup you could entertain with it in the winter. There you go.

Each of Ina’s cookbooks have been awesome. She seems to out do herself on each one. I have no doubt this new one will be no different. Great recipes, easy to find ingredients, and beautifully photographed. It will full of recipes that she has tested and retested. Also her assistants have tested. Of course, they will be Jeffrey approved and loved.

I feel like a broken record. Last year after farmers were told by the USDA to cull their livestock after Trump allowed the shut down. Now we are starting to see the effects of that stupidity. First of all, it wouldn’t have mattered what puppet was in the Oval Office. A puppet is a puppet regardless of the name. They dance for the same masters. No matter the government.
The order to cull livestock came from his inner circle, bottom line. Now late last year it came out that the reserves of food we were told aren’t nearly close to what they should be. This is something WE will have to live with.
