It’s been 20 years since this fateful day. A day that changed America. I have no idea how it’s changed other countries. If you read this and live in another country, please share with us what has changed in your country since 9/11.
I can remember when people went to air ports and could check in without a hassle. When friends could plan a get together anywhere they wanted. We could speak our minds and it was fine if people didn’t agree on. Then everything changed.
When I think of the lies that has been sold to us and the lives lost as a result, I’m filled with rage. Just blinding rage st the government here in the states, and our citizens. We bought every lie hook line and sinker. We knew the importance of asking the five critical questions we should always ask: who, what, when, where, why, and how. We were told that to question things was ‘unpatriotic’. “You’re either with us, or you’re against us” became the rallying cry. To disagree with America about anything was to be against us and you sided with the enemy.
The enemy of today will be the friend of tomorrow. French fries became Freedom fries overnight. Seriously! That was the level of petty behavior we have seen since. It’s still in play. It really breaks my heart to see my fellow citizens being reduced to small children with their feelings hurt. Hanging on to mommy or daddy’s leg sucking their thumb.
Right off the bat the media knew it was Osama Bin Laden. We the people had no idea who he was. Most had forgotten our role in Afghanistan back in the late 1970s till the 1980s when Russia finally left Afghanistan. Our role simply was to fund and arm the Mujahideen. Through the 1980s the Mujahideen acted as ‘security’ for the poppy fields owned by pharma in Afghanistan. During the 1980s there were movies which glorified the Mujahideen and their role in the heroin trade. The 1990s brought a harsh reality to the Mujahideen; we’re being screwed over. They looked at what they were making and what our government along with pharma was making. They realized, ‘we’re getting screwed.’ Now this is the important part, Mujahideen fostered Taliban/Al Qaeda/Al Diash/ISIS and extra. At the end of the day they are lumped in with the CIA.
It’s insane to believe that we have had so many rights and liberties scared out of us since then. In the name of national security we have agreed to be spied on by our government. We’ve agreed to be on camera while in public. We are currently being pressured to give up our medical privacy rights.
I do think the overall results of 9/11 test are this: when scared Americans will put the constitution in the freezer in the name of national security. The Patriot Act proved this further.
