This has been a lifelong dream of mine. As a kid I loved reading. I still do it’s just different material. What is your lifelong dream? Have you accomplished it? If not, what’s your plan to do so? It feels great. I didn’t buy all the books brand new. Some of them were used, passed down, and some were brand new either the price of new and used was close enough or used wasn’t available.

With all seriousness these Tacos look delicious. A beautiful bright green sauce. Fresh shrimp if you can. If not dethaw shrimp and make sure you drain as much water out of them as possible.
What to serve with them? The choices are endless.
Watch “Canning 101: Start Here” on YouTube
I haven’t posted yet because I was trying to find the right thing to share. I see this and think ‘didn’t she already share this’, you’re right. I have shared this video Jamie Guildbrook did on canning safety.
Now comes to the question why am I resharing this video? I just got done watching a video Leisa Sutton did about yet another stupid trend on TikTok where people are using rings for Tatler Lids with regular metal lids. 🤯 Why would someone do that? It’s stupid! It’s TikTok!
Seriously don’t do this. You will kill not only yourself but anyone who eats what you’ve canned. It’s not worth it. Trust me a divorce is easier and cheaper than a homicide trail. As someone who has had the pleasure of sharing a home with someone, I understand the homicidal impulse.
In the video Jamie did about four or six years ago she talks about Steamcanning. This isn’t new. It has been proven to be as safe as waterbath canners. Go to YouTube and look up Leisa Sutton (Sutton Daze). Leisa has videos on steamcanning. About a year of two ago steamcanners were deemed safe by the government.
Small Thanksgiving Feast
Here are several tips for a small Thanksgiving Feast. While I personally don’t think I would go out for a holiday meal, I certainly understand why people do that.
Years ago one of my cousins took us for Easter dinner at a Golden Corral in Florida. It was fun and the waiter made a nice tip. The meal was good. And no dishes afterward to clean.
Usually we eat a few things like chips and dip with deviled eggs. This replaces breakfast. Then dessert will be later so dinner is mute. A tip here I loved is plan for leftovers. I plan on making turkey pot pie.
Of course, we all may have a small problem. Product availability. Yeah! That doesn’t mean we can’t have a feast. Just maybe we have to tweak things a bit.

Rationing Could Begin in England
Open SmartNews and read “Supermarkets may starting rationing meat ahead of Christmas” here: https://share.smartnews.com/yggXv To read it on the web, tap here: https://share.smartnews.com/GXxmv
Okay This article was in a British paper. However, it has aspects that apply to life in America. I am talking possible meat rationing. Yes! They used the word Rationing. That scary awful word which is aligned with Socialism.
During WW I and II food was rationed in Jolly Ol’ England. I doubt they were very jolly. The most interesting thing happened; they got healthier. Yeah! How? Easy. Fats and sugars were rationed. If you got the leaner and/or tough cuts you had less fat. They ate more fruit and vegetables. Holy cow! Imagine that. You reduce your fat and sugar intake along with physical activity you get healthier. Sweet Baby Jesus say it isn’t so.
If the governments thinking we’d open leaving the workforce because they missed their families (not the official reason) was bad news wait till the results of rationing come in. Oh dear God! I can’t wait. People are going to be healthier because they reduced fat and sugar intake. And they’ve been working in a victory garden of some sort so they will be in in better physical shape.
Oh I almost forgot smarter. They be in front of a tv 24 hours 7 days a week. Maybe just maybe an hour at night will be spent in front of the boob tube. Their free time will be spent with their family. Mom, dad, and child(ren). Wh add t a glouris thing it’s going to be.

Small Thanksgiving Feast
https://www.instructables.com/thanksgiving-dinner-for-two/
For the next six weeks I will be posting ideas for a small Thanksgiving dinner. Without a doubt I kind of miss the large feast we used to have. I will never forget 2001 Holiday season. It was the first I got to spend with my maternal grandmother; Grams.
I don’t necessarily remember the meal itself but having Grama with us on a Holiday dinner. It’s hard to believe it’s been twenty years. I do remember the turkey it was big and beautiful. Mashed potatoes delicious. Only a grandma could make. Dressing was Stovetop. Pies were delicious.
Now Antonia and I do a simply feast. It’s still a feast. Just a bit smaller. I hope y’all enjoy this series. The National Hispanic Heritage Month series will be done next Saturday. So this will replace it and after Thanksgiving will be a Christmas and New Years series since those days are so close together.
