Hot Chocolate

https://gluesticksgumdrops.com/hot-chocolate-recipes-you-have-to-try/

Hot Chocolate! This is a seasonings pleasure. There are so many variations of hot chocolate. It amazes me to think of how many there are just here in America.

Then you go to South America and it’s a whole different experience. Sweet and spicy equals delicious. I have to mention that south of the border the chocolate isn’t as sweet as we are use to.

The flavor combinations are endless.

Maple & Mango Spiced Glazed Ham – Marion’s Kitchen

https://www.marionskitchen.com/maple-mango-spiced-glazed-ham/

Christmas and New Year’s on the way, I am getting excited. After you read this recipe you will to.

Ham! Start with your (and your family’s) favorite ham. Rather it’s Dearborn, Private Selection, or Sam’s. You might wantto grab to or four. If you grab four you can put two in vaccum seal bags for next year. Since we have no idea what 2022 is going to bring.

Spice Marinade! Oh baby! Our girl Marion is bring the flavor. Red chilies, shallots, garlic, star anise, Chinese Five Spice, ginger, malt vinegar and Chinese wine. I almost forgot ground cloves. That’s just the marinade.

Glaze! Buckle up cause we are going to complete our tour of Flavor Town. Maple & Mango Glaze. A mango of course, mango juice. You can get the Goya brand and its awesome. Whatever maple syrup you like will work and same goes for the soy sauce. Personally I am a fan of Tamari. It’s an aged soy sauce and richer flavor than soy sauce. 2-3 Bay leaves this depends on you. And star anise. That sounds delicious. I bet you could pit this glaze on a flip flop and it would be good.

I do plan on trying this glaze.

I love Southern Coleslaw! I grew up eating it and oh my God.

It’s sweet from the mayo, tart from the lemon and apple cider vinegar. Salt and pepper. Simple and delicious. You have beautifully sweet carrots. It’s perfection!

Honestly, everyone needs a great coleslaw recipe.

Countdown to Christmas and New Year’s Day

Here we go y’all. Countdown to Christmas. Each week we will look at what we can be doing to prepare our homes for Christmas then New Year’s Day. Yeah! We are going to cover both. We are going to cover everything just like Thanksgiving.

Cleaning

Two weeks out from Christmas here’s what we can do. Scrub your home from top to bottom. Seriously! Move furniture and scrub baseboards.

Below is a link to a free printable list.

I’m giving you this link because there’s no signing up for emails and we have that annoying relative who comes in to a house looking for the slightest bit of dust. My late Uncle Gary was like that. No, I didn’t snap and kill him. His heart gave out under the pressure of his weight.

Menu plan for Christmas.

(If you come from a family who doesn’t cook or bake now would be a great time to put in your order for Christmas dinner. A lot of stores are going to be selling meal deals according to the crowd you will be dealing with.)

Now you know what you’re having and who’s going to bring what. Now let’s see what serving dishes you have and what you will need. First, always go to relatives. If your Aunt who is driving down from another state has a beautiful platter, make sure you ask to borrow it. And two days before they leave home make sure to call her as well.

Here’s the planner I am going to print. It’s simple to follow and you can print it out year after year.

Air Fryer Stuffed Mushrooms

https://www.simplyhappenings.com/air-fryer-stuffed-mushrooms/

Here’s an easy starter recipe for one of the most popular appetizers ever. Stuffed Mushrooms! I love the Olive Garden’s Stuffed Mushrooms.

This recips comes with a tip that I didn’t even know. You can’t use aresol spray oils on your air fryer basket. Rather you can take an oil on a paper towel or regular towel and rub the oil on your basket. Hey! My day is complete. I doing this post in the same day I post the first article on air fryers.

Remember: wipe your mushrooms with a damp cloth. Don’t submerge tham in water. What is in the mushrooms? Cream cheese, garlic, salt and pepper. With cheedar with chives on top. How much easier can you get. On top of that is you can cook the mushrooms in advance or when your guest are walking in. Who wouldn’t want to walk in a house and smell stuffed mushrooms cooking.

Excellent Food Site

https://fb.watch/9J8TKfKK45/

Twisted is an cool food site based in England. Their chefs are always coming up with really cool ideas.

This video particularly has a version of Buffalo Chicken stuffed in cooked shells. They are frozen then put through a dredge of breadcrumbs, flour, and eggs then insert a bamboo skewer to fry the shells with. I have watched them do some crazy cerisions of American favorites.

Like mac and cheese meets pizza. Yeah! Gaint cheeseburg and a gaint breakfast sandwich. No joke y’all. Of course, you would want to share these items and you would definitely be the talk over the water cooler. Can you even imagine making a gaint burger with a platter of fries for a Friday night movie feast. Yeah!

Sweet Potato Cheesecake With Maple Walnut Caramel Sauce

https://www.seriouseats.com/roasted-sweet-potato-cheesecake-with-maple-walnut-caramel-sauce-recipe-5210171

This wonderful cheesecake takes two things most people love and combines them into a singular package. Sweet Potatoes and cheesecake.

I love sweet potatoes and cheesecake. What I don’t care for is the super sweet casserole. It’s too much. After reading this recipe I realized it would have a wonderful balance of the sweet competent of the potatoes without over emphasizing their sweetness.

The cream cheese will make this nice and creamy. It’s got walnuts and the best part…. Carmel Sauce! Yeah! This is where things get delicious. And sticky…. If you make this before I do, post the results.

Food Shortages, Again

Here’s something to think about. Stores like Walmart are now selling survival foods like Augason Farms packages. They have been selling survival gear for years. It is promoted as “Camping Gear”. I suppose that sounds more appealing. You since the media have branded survivalists as crazy. Doomsday preppers was a show on the History channel about ten or so years ago. Most people were reasonable. Preparing for a total financial collapse. Of course, the ‘experts’ the History channel talked to rated it highly unlikely. You know that the History channel absolutely shared the names of their ‘experts’. Not! They never released the names of their so-called experts. The show made preppers look crazy. But that’s what it was supposed to do. I don’t see those experts laughing now. Do you? The food shortage problem isn’t just an American problem. As you’ll see in the article from RT, Russians are starting to see shortages. They’ve not seen shortages since the fall of the Soviet Union. Those who went through that hell know what we are in for. There are eight generations of Americans that have no idea what empty shelves mean. They don’t understand the whole supply chain. Russia has only one generation removed from empty shelves. Everyone in Russia born since 2000 has no idea what it was like to walk into a store and find maybe two brands of bread instead of six. Americans, my generation included, don’t have a clue of what that means. All those who went through the Great Depression here in America have passed on. So those of you in Russia, please take time to talk to your parents who grew up seeing empty shelves. And learn the lessons from them.
