Here’s another great canning video. Having meals that only need one or two things would be helpful. I am an ingredient canner. Meaning I can individual items like chicken in a can by itself. However, if you have a family that doesn’t mind this approach go for it.
Impending Rationing
Last week the Department of Homeland Security tweeted about only buying what people needed at a time. This is voluntary rationing. Next is mandated by law. Either federal or state.
Limits are a form of rationing. We’ve been seeing limits on items since 2020. I have to wonder if that was to get us ready for what’s coming up. What is that? Next time you are in the store look around. What do you see? or don’t see? Watch the situation between Russia and Ukraine. That is important here because they grow the majority of the wheat needed for things like bread. All kinds of bread.

I just came across this site owned by Hyosun. She’s a first generation American-Korean citizen. On her site she shares recipes she grew up eating. Also, Hyosun shares stores about her in-laws. They also are American-Korean.
This particular post through Pinterest as usual. It’s 15 recipes Hyosun will be making for Lunar New Year next weekend. From what I’ve found about this holiday it’s pretty cool.
You spend days the weekend before cleaning for get togethers. Than you have parts of the main day you can prep ahead of time. Like your protein. These can be set up to a wet marinade or dry seasoning and froze if needed.
I don’t know if it’s a tradition for Asian cultures to bulk buy meats and/or seafood, but I would recommend it. I it might seem strange to y’all. I live in America and I grew up with my mom buying meat once a month and use it all month long. Ince a week she would get milk and fresh veggies/fruit.

Antonia is recovering from COVID-19 and cleared to return for work on Sunday. However Kroger changed their policy so they can have people working that are asymptomatic with COVID-19.

If you like butternut squash soups here’s a good video to show to make a base. Anna isn’t making an actual soup. The consistency of a pureed soup can make safe canning impossible.
