Easter Celebration Menu

I am going to be busy for the next three days. Sarge (our Pomeranian) is having a surgical procedure and I am going to be busy looking after him. Here is the recipes that stood out.

ARUGULA SALAD: This is a simple salad with clean flavors. The olive oil and lemon are awesome together. With the Parmesan Cheese brings a saltiness that isn’t too much.

STANDING RIB ROAST: Beef is expensive so you should respect it and treat it with care. Season it appropriately.

HONEY HARISSA RANIBOW CARROTS: This is the last one. These aren’t your average carrots. They are sweet and spicy. In other words, plenty of attitude.

I hope you enjoy this article. I can’t believe we are getting so close to Easter.

Lemon and Lilac

This is a beautiful. It screams of spring with yellow and lavender with green absolutely beautiful. I don’t even mind that it’s in the middle of the table.

Let’s look closer. There’s dark green playes for salad. White plates are lovely. There’s the right amount of silverware. And glassware. The table runner is white with lemons layed in it.

The decor on the plate is cute. A little lavender butterfly is cute.

A Blooming Nest Spring Table

This post contains a beautiful setup and the colors are very easy on the eyes. From the tulip arrangement of lovely spring colors and bright green leaves and stems. The choice of basket is excellent. It brings your eyes up to the arrangement.

The dish ware decor is quite cute. Marie put a mock nest with a little rabbit in the middle. Now once again I don’t get the whole charger thing. Nor do I understand putting a flower arrangement in the middle of a table. To me it seems to get in the way of conversation. Which is why I prefer arrangements to be on the outside of the room along the walls. This way you can put the meal you worked hard to make center of the table.

All in all I like her choices of colors and decor. It’s a welcoming one. Especially for people with ADHD. Bright colors can send us in a tizzy. Super dark colors can be overwhelming and feel cluttered. So these light colors with bright tulips works great together.

Garbage Bread

This is a misleading title. Kind of! It’s should be called stuffed bread. With that the possibilities are endless. Below will two possibilities that came to my mind.

PIZZA: Oh yeah! Veggies galore with cheese. Oh boy.  All the veggies, meat and cheese in one package. I am getting excited.

ENCHILADA: Yep! Meat, cheese, beans, and rice in one package. Serve a side of enchilada sauce.  Also a salad would be good.

For a dessert, if you still have room, cookies or ice cream. Of course, you could use them together.

200 Meatless Meals for Families On A Budget

https://www.carriesexperimentalkitchen.com/40-seafood-recipes-for-lent/

As usual, I am going to highlight the ones that stood out to me. Unlike Carrie, I love seafood.

SWEET -N- NUTS: This would be a great snack anytine of year. It’s sweet and it’s spicy.

HEALTHY 5-INGREDIENT GRANOLA BAR: This recipe would be a good snack or breakfast during Lent. Or anytime if the year. And it would be quick to assemble.

EASY MEATLESS LASAGNA: This would be a great way to get veggies in your kiddies. You could also add shrimp.

SEAFOOD OPTIONS: Adding salmon to the burrito bowl would be awesome. Or you could add shrimp. Tuna would make a great addition to any of these recipes.

The BEST Slow Cooker Pot Roast Recipe (So Tender!) – Oh Sweet Basil

https://ohsweetbasil.com/slow-cooker-pot-roast-recipe/

Throw Back Thrusday wouldn’t be complete without a pot roast. Seriously! This one is has three main ingredients. Roast, ranch dressing seasoning pack and au jus seasoning pack. This recipe doesn’t call for water. I am not sure who decided boiled meat was delicious, but it’s not. If you decide you need water you can use a metal rack which fits your crockpot.

What to serve with it? Salad, mashed potatoes, or perhaps mac and cheese. Dessert! Pie would be awesome.

Sales Time

It’s time to start looking at sales. Now that you’ve decided on a protein, start looking at store sales. In the past we would wait til closer to Easter to get our protein. Rather its, ham, beef roast, or lamb. Given the situation with the supply chain, I strongly recommend getting your protein now.

If you are doing the cooking then I definitely recommend getting what you need soon. However, if your doing a pot luck, than focus on the protein. Here’s a couple of advantages of pot luck;

1) Shared meal cost and work load. This way the cost of the whole meal doesn’t fall on one person. Of a second approach to this would getting people to pitch in for the cost and supply recipes so you have help on the cost. And those who work tent to twelve hour days won’t have to worry about making something for Easter.

2) Everyone shares a part of themselves. Even if they have to provide the recipe, have that person tell the history behind the dish. Many times there stories behind dishes.

Month To Easter

Here’s the blog post I planned on doing last Thursday. Looking at what needs to be done.

RSVPS: Send out the invitations and request an rsvp as soon as possible.

BORROW EQUIPMENT: This when you check with relatives and/or friends to make sure you can pick up the equipment a week before Easter.

FOOD ALLERGIES: Check with your guest about food allergies.

CLEANING: now is the time to do a deep cleaning. This way the week before you just have to do a touch up.

CONFIRM DISHES: This would be a good time to confirm whose bringing what. Or get the recipe and make the dish yourself. This is mainly id you’re doing a pot luck. Which I recommend. This will ease the financial burden on one person.

That’s what I had planned to post last week.

HOW TO SET A PRETTY TABLE- SPRING/EASTER TABLESCAPEHOW TO SET A PRETTY TABLE- SPRING/EASTER TABLESCAPE

Look at this… 👀 https://pin.it/3kiPDNe

This post comes from Jennifer Griffin at Dimples and Tangles. Jennifer goes through setting a table for Easter. Layer by layer. There’s five layers here and I will go over them.

1) BASE – Jennifer uses a small blue tablecloth. Personally, I would go with a a light green. There runner she used is green with pink. That’s a little much. I would use a plain light yellow runner.  As for placemats, I would print out Easter printables for kids to color.

2) PLATSTACK – I don’t really get the multiple plate thing. No more than the multiple silverware. Keep it simple. Fork, knife, and maybe a spoon.

3) NAPKINS – Napkins can be the welcoming point of the table. If you have artistic family members, let them go crazy on the folding.

4) CENTERPIECE – I am not a fan of having a huge item in the middle of the table. I would rather decorate the whole room. Place flowers on the outside of the room next to the walls.

5) GLASSES – Drink glasses should be added before meal time. Once again there’s no point in multiple glasses. One glass will do the job. Besides all the extra stuff takes up space that could be dedicated to food.

We are little over a month from Easter. Now that we got our internet resolved, I will make up for that now.

Watch “Product Review: Dining Table” on YouTube

I recently purchased this dining set from American Freight. I love it. It’s the perfect size for our dining area. Which isn’t much! American Freight had two. I was looking at two just in case they only had one of the two in stock. Lucky me they had the one I wanted.
