Deep Cleaning Time

This weekend will be time for the deep cleaning Pre-Easter deep clean. I am talking pull out appliances as possible, furniture, and out from underneath beds. This should be an all hands on deck effort.

Once your done, step back and take joy that your home is super clean. Now just divide out chores to keep that way. If you have to do this by yourself then put on music and let it rip.

Freezer Recipes for Lent

We only have one Friday left of Lent. Some of these meals would be great to have in the days leading up to Easter. Like Vegan Enchiladas, Creamy Tomato Soup, or Mexican Breakfast Pockets. Below will be some awesome fish dishes.

CARIBBEAN SALMON AND RICE with TROPICAL SALSA: This sounds delicious. It’s salmon and salsa. This recipe calls for Jasmine rice, but you could use what you have or your family likes. There’s also a Teriyaki salmon dish if spicy isn’t your thing.

TILAPIA WITH MANGO STRAWBERRY SALSA: Yeah! Sweet and spicy oh man. Tilapia is a nice white fish that takes flavors like this beautifully.

LIGHTER TUNA NOODLE CASSEROLE: This healthier casserole is a remake of the classic casserole. Difference is wholewheat pasta.

I hope these post for Lent Fridays have helped you.

50 Easter Meal Ideas

This blog has fifty ideas. However, we will look at each part of the meal in categories.

APPETIZER: Easter Carrot Cheese Ball. This is so cute and less weird than the lamb shaped butter. The choice of crackers are endless.

MAIN MEAL: SIDE DISH: Balsamic Green Beans with Pancetta. This would be awesome. Add the Honey Harissa Carrots from the post a couple days ago. WHIPPED POTATOES: Oh my God! Goat Cheese Whipped Potatoes. Throw in some garlic and hello. PROTEIN: Garlic Butter Baked Salmon in Foil sounds delicious and certainly would be a surprise. However, it might not be enough. So pair it with a roasted lamb shoulder would feed a crew. BREAD: We love the King’s Hawaiian Rolls.

DESSERT: Lemon Layer Cake would be a bright and refreshing flavor. Or a lemon pound or bundt cake. You serve it with blueberries in place of a heavy icing.

Here we go. I am finalizing our menu this weekend. I hope these post have helped y’all. Feel free to exchange ideas.

Easter Menu! 🐇

Now that we are getting closer to Easter, here’s our Easter Menu or at least a starting point.

Main Meal: Ham, mashed potatoes, corn and Hawaiian King Rolls. As I said above this is still working this out. We may be sharing our meal with a friend whose homeless.

Dessert: This is still up in the air. It’ll be something easy.

LEMON CREAM CHEESE BARS: Here’s another light refreshing flavors would be incredible. Sweet and tart. Incredible!

100 Festive Easter Desserts! 🍰

Look at this video… 👀 https://pin.it/7iATZuA

This is the most important part of a meal is the dessert. Most people eat the meal just to get to the dessert. I was one of them. Below will be the ones that stood out to me.

MALTED EASTER EGG CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE: Oh yeah! This would be a welcomed addition to any dessert line up. It’s chocolate first of all and unless you’re allergic to chocolate, in which you have my sympathy, then it’s cheesecake. Cheesecakes are known for being rich delicious and luxurious. Two of my favorite things.

EASTER BUNNY BUNDT CAKES: This would be a great individual dessert. You could use any flavor you want and there’s a Peep on top.

PULL APART EASTER BUNNY CUPCAKES: Once again you can use any mix you and your family like. The bunny is comprised of the cupcakes. Then you ice them to look like a bunny. The tips you use are 3, 18, and 32. There’s a buttercream icing recipe included.

These are desserts I would’ve loved to see at the end of a meal as a kid after an egg hunt.

Lenten Seafood Meals

Here’s some meals for Lenten Season. I love fish. Of course, I have my favorites. Below are suggestions.

SHRIMP: I love shrimp. The two ways I favor is coconut fried and scampied. Garlic and parmesan cheese.

SALMON: Grilled is always my first choice. However, roasted is awesome to. Seasonings can be anything. My favorite is a Brazilian Steakhouse blend by McCormick.

MAHI MAHI: Again grilled is best. Roasting is a great second choice.

TUNA STEAKS: I know you’re going to be surprised, grilled. Yep!

Ramadan Information Sheet – Islamic Networks Group (ING)

https://ing.org/resources/for-all-groups/calendar-of-important-islamic-dates/ramadan-information-sheet/

Here is a great description of Ramadan. It doesn’t have much for recipes rather their customs and schedule. The article tells who is and isn’t required to fast. And how much fasting to be done.

In general, Muslims like Jews don’t eat pork. Muslims do not consume alcohol either. Other than that what is eaten depends on where you’re at. Each Muslim country will have different culinary traditions. Then there’s the branch they are from. Saudi tends to be Wahabbi where as Iran shi’ite. Then there’s Suni.

Two Weeks To Easter

We are two weeks away from Easter. I can’t believe it. There’s a few last matters to tend to.

GROCERY SHOPPING: Now that you have gathered everything you need to this point, all that’s left is the non-perishable goods. However, if there’s a great sale on your protein, grab it.

CLEANING: Time for a deep scrubbing. I am talking about moving furniture, cook range and anything else. Get deep in the corners.

GAMES: Check in with who ever is in charge of games. These of course will vary by age group.

In two weeks will be the big day so we will focus on the prep work for it and Lenten. Don’t forget Palm Sunday and Seven Stations of Christ if you are from a Catholic family.
