Awesome! Ketchup is easy to make. Once you get the method down you can change the flavor profile anyway you want. Below are some suggestions.

ROASTED GARLIC: Instead of using powder use roasted garlic made in a paste. Sounds hard! Nope. Just take the roasted garlic a smash it till it makes a paste. Then add to sauce.

SRIRACHA KETCHUP: If you’re a fan of this newest spicy sauce, then add it. WARNING: the flavors will intensify if you can it. You’ve been warned. It can be stored for a period in your fridge.

CHILI KETCHUP: Putting chilies in ketchup can give a major boost to the flavor. You can use any chili you (and your family like).

Ketchup has come a long way since it was first made. I don’t know exactly who first made it, but I am glad they did.

Moo Ping!! Thai Street Pork Skewer

Marion shares a different way to make sticky rice. She cooks the rice over steam in an interesting pot.

Let’s talk pork. OMG! The marinade is bursting with flavor. White peppercorn, garlic, coriander (and cilantro), soy sauce with palm sugar (brown sugar would work). You have two parts of pork. Loin and fat. Yeah! Marinade the meat for about ten minutes. Then put this loveliness on a stick then grill. Brusk on coconut milk with Panda leaves if possible or put the leaves in the milk so it can blend with leaves 24 hours ahead. The flavors will be awesome.

Multi Generational Home

In the video link below, Patara is talking about an old trend that may be returning. Multi Generational Home!

In Hawaii, this is a common practice among natives. I can remember my parents taking people in while I was growing up. I remember my mom talking about dinners in which everyone brought something. It was a community dinner. These were the best. My daughter’s father was from Mexico. She was exposed to this style of living. I am glad she was.

Patara made a great point, we (you and I) need to get ready for this to return. I made the”WE” clear because this is how our ancestors survived the Great Depression. Multiple folks living in one house. It can be tight. But it’s what they had to do. And it’s what we are going to have to do. Are you ready?

Today’s Plan

Happy News! Today isthe last day Antonia will be in Clicklist. Sunday she starts her Pharmacy Tech training on a computer. She doesn’t have to be there till ten a.m.. Yeah! No more getting her there by five a.m.. Thank God because this is exhausting.

Also, great news, I get the serger rethreaded and working. Okay! I need to figure out the tension disk. I am very happy. Tomorrow is laundry day. I am taling the rest of today to rest up.

50 Frugual Things You Can Make

Given the cost of everything going postal, we (you and I) aregoing to have to find alternative solutions to running to Walmart once or twice a week. Below, as usual are things that stood out to me. Hopethis helps and deel free to share tips in the comments box. Or share stories.

FOOD: Neans and Rice is big here. My daughter is half Mexican and we eat beans and rice a lot. Here’s a tip; keep different seasonings around. Beans and rice seasoned with Herbs De Province taste different then when it’s made with Mexican seasonings. Throw in meat with the same seasonings to use up leftover protein.

CLEANERS: I keep two spray bottles around. One with white vinegar and the other with store beand multipurpose cleaner diluted with water. I use a 2:1 ratio. Two parts water to one part cleaner. Now if I need more water fine.

PINTEREST: This site is a staple for me. It’s free. FREE! How many things can we get free? Nothing. So take advantage of Pinterest as a free resource. ๐Ÿฅฐ

RECYCLE: Yeah! I have said it before, I don’t see the point of disposable paper goods like towels. They cost between $2.38 and $17.14 (minus six percent tax in Monroe County Michigan). So’ no. I won’t pay that. Toilet paper we have to use. I don’t know about cloth ones. Feminine items are a must. But recycling towels, cloth, and napkins is an absolute here.

Share what you (and your family) are doing. Let’s get through this together.

Activities for Mother’s Day!

What does your mom like to do? This is the day to spend on her doing things that she likes to do. Below will be some budget friendly ideas.

PHYSICALLY ACTIVE MOM: Is she a hiker, go for a hike with her and have lunch ready.

MOVIE MOM: Does you mom like movies? What gener? Personally I like movies such as Casablanca or Dr. Zhivago. They have a touch of class to them that is missing in modern movies.

GAMER MOM: If you come from a gaming family, then prepare for a day of fun. Don’t forget eating.

LITERARY MOM: This mom is awesome. She has nurtured you love for reading and maybe even adventure.

Honestly, all these moms are awesome. The point here is spending time together doesn’t have to break the bank.

I love this idea. You take a simply box with sections divided up and put candy mom loves in it. It’s cute and simple. One top of that you can use any candy you already have. Below is my favorite candies.

REESE’S: I love chocolate and peanut butter.

SKITTLES: I like the orginal skittles in the red bag.

JELLY BEAN: I have always loved jelly beans. No the licorice ones. I have never liked them. But my mom did.

HERSHEY BAR: OMG! There’s nothing like the taste of this chocolate melting on your tongue. I also like the chocolate bars from Venezuela or Brazil. They have a different taste to them. Not as sweet as what we’re used to.

Those are my faves. What’s yours?

Two Days Till Mother’s Day! ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ง

Sunday is Mother’s Day. Let’s see more ideas to do for mom on a budget.

STAR TREATMENT: Treat mom like a star. Of course, this means tending to her every whim. Kind of like Queen for a day kind of thing. Not as intense.

CHORES: Take her chore list and divide it up among your family. According to age.

SLIDE SHOW: Put together a slide show of all the things she does for her family.

The important thing is to spend quality time with her. That’s it. That’s free.
