Next week school ends for a lot of areas. So each Thursday we will look at how to feed you kids without killing you budget or holding you hostage in a hot kitchen.

Jamerrill Stewart has been doing large batch cooking for years and she has it down to an art. In this recipe she makes sloppy joes. Cheap easy and you can make a bunch and freeze it in portions you and your family will eat on all summer.

In this recipe, Jamerrill makes her own sauce. If your family has a sauce they like, ise it. She won’t be offended. Actually she’ll understand.

WHAT TO SERVE THEM ON? Garlic bread comes to mind. Just toast up some rolls with garlic butter on them. Or as a burrito filling. Serve Sloppy Joes in a baked potatoes. Next time you have you grill going, baked some potatoes off.

WHAT TO SERVE WITH THEM? We have the classic fires. Or you know the Checker’s Fries are incredible. You’d have the sweet from the sauce and spicy from the fries. Sweet potato fries would be good if you spicy on the sauce. Chips are always a favorite.

Hello y'all! I have hit a point in my life that I miss the simple dishes and times that my parents grew up in. People were kind to each other and the food was homemade from scratch. Before convince food was everywhere. Oh, those were the days... Let's reclaim them and start cooking from scratch again.
