Sales Time

It’s time to start looking at sales. Now that you’ve decided on a protein, start looking at store sales. In the past we would wait til closer to Easter to get our protein. Rather its, ham, beef roast, or lamb. Given the situation with the supply chain, I strongly recommend getting your protein now.

If you are doing the cooking then I definitely recommend getting what you need soon. However, if your doing a pot luck, than focus on the protein. Here’s a couple of advantages of pot luck;

1) Shared meal cost and work load. This way the cost of the whole meal doesn’t fall on one person. Of a second approach to this would getting people to pitch in for the cost and supply recipes so you have help on the cost. And those who work tent to twelve hour days won’t have to worry about making something for Easter.

2) Everyone shares a part of themselves. Even if they have to provide the recipe, have that person tell the history behind the dish. Many times there stories behind dishes.

Hello y'all! I have hit a point in my life that I miss the simple dishes and times that my parents grew up in. People were kind to each other and the food was homemade from scratch. Before convince food was everywhere. Oh, those were the days... Let's reclaim them and start cooking from scratch again.
