Jennifer Houghton wrote this blog post in 2017. It is full of cute ideas on decorating your home for Valentine’s Day. I have to confess that I am not much for Valentine’s Day thing. To me it’s just another way to get people to run up debt they can’t afford. So let’s look at things we can do ourselves with little or no money.

First is look around you. What do you already have? Artificial flowers, ribbons, vases, or maybe some red and pick stones. There’s a decoration. Perhaps you have access to fresh flowers. Bring those home on Valentine’s Day.

Secondary, craft projects. If you have kiddos here’s a fun way to get them involved with decorating. This will serve two purposes. 1, teach them how to create their own decorations. 2, teaches them home making skills.

And thirdly, save money. Keep items on hand you csn use year after year and you will save so much money in the long run.
