Homemakers Essentials

I haven’t done a post on this in a year. I think. It could be longer. I honestly don’t know because the year has gone by so fast.

Below is a post by Emily the Mid * Century Modern Mommy. She has a site where you can get advice from someone with twenty years of experience in homemaking. Yes! Emily has a Coaching program that is available but not required to access printable information on her site. That is appreciated greatly. Because I don’t have $600 for her coaching program. Yeah! I don’t fault her for charging.

Emily also has sample menus from the thirties up to the fifties. These are interesting to read. Cream of cabbage soup. I’ll pass, thank you very much. I remember in my 1954 edition of Better Homes and Gardens cookbook there are menus and two sections to help homemakers setup and manage a home. I do agree with Emily that women of the earlier years did a better job at deep cleaning their homes compared to now.

Hello y'all! I have hit a point in my life that I miss the simple dishes and times that my parents grew up in. People were kind to each other and the food was homemade from scratch. Before convince food was everywhere. Oh, those were the days... Let's reclaim them and start cooking from scratch again.
