Countdown to Christmas and New Year’s Day

Here we go y’all. Countdown to Christmas. Each week we will look at what we can be doing to prepare our homes for Christmas then New Year’s Day. Yeah! We are going to cover both. We are going to cover everything just like Thanksgiving.

Cleaning

Two weeks out from Christmas here’s what we can do. Scrub your home from top to bottom. Seriously! Move furniture and scrub baseboards.

Below is a link to a free printable list.

I’m giving you this link because there’s no signing up for emails and we have that annoying relative who comes in to a house looking for the slightest bit of dust. My late Uncle Gary was like that. No, I didn’t snap and kill him. His heart gave out under the pressure of his weight.

Menu plan for Christmas.

(If you come from a family who doesn’t cook or bake now would be a great time to put in your order for Christmas dinner. A lot of stores are going to be selling meal deals according to the crowd you will be dealing with.)

Now you know what you’re having and who’s going to bring what. Now let’s see what serving dishes you have and what you will need. First, always go to relatives. If your Aunt who is driving down from another state has a beautiful platter, make sure you ask to borrow it. And two days before they leave home make sure to call her as well.

Here’s the planner I am going to print. It’s simple to follow and you can print it out year after year.

Hello y'all! I have hit a point in my life that I miss the simple dishes and times that my parents grew up in. People were kind to each other and the food was homemade from scratch. Before convince food was everywhere. Oh, those were the days... Let's reclaim them and start cooking from scratch again.
