15 Swiss Foods to try in Switzerland or at Home | The Planet D

I came across this article last night. It reminded me of how diverse the Swiss cuisine really is. I do have a cookbook on Swiss Cuisine. If you are in the same boat as myself and are learning more about different cuisines, this is a great one to include.

Here is what caught my eye. What Americans know as Swiss cheese isn’t Swiss at all. Yeah! That awesome cheese with holes in it isn’t really Swiss. 🤯 It blew my mind. It made me wonder how many dishes that we know as Swiss are really Swiss.

The article shares the names of dishes that actually have roots in France, Germany, and/or Austria. Here’s a tidbit of information I didn’t know about Switzerland, some of the citizens in tge Northern regions tend to speak French where as citizens in the more Southern region will also speak Italian. Yeah! I had no idea.

That reminded me of how diverse America has become. We have people from every point of the earth. They each have their own cuisines. Those who share their cuisine are much needed breathe of fresh air here. I hope y’all will enjoy the article and then explore your own community especially if you live in a city like Detroit. So many people have passed through and a lot stayed. Enjoy the cuisine and the culture.

Hello y'all! I have hit a point in my life that I miss the simple dishes and times that my parents grew up in. People were kind to each other and the food was homemade from scratch. Before convince food was everywhere. Oh, those were the days... Let's reclaim them and start cooking from scratch again.
