Cheeseburger Dumplings Recipe (Crispy, Pan-Seared Technique) | Kitchn

If you are cutting back your bread intake, this dumpling is for you. Kiera Wright-Suiz wrote this dumpling recipe for those who love cheeseburgers and dumplings.

As I read the ingredients, they all sounded familiar. Ketchup, mayo, mustard, worchester sauce. These are the things that make a great burger well, great. Difference, you get this adorable little package containing an American favorite; Cheeseburg.

Now let’s compare the bun for a burger to a dumpling wrapper. The dumpling wrapper has water and flour. That’s it. Go to http://www.redhousespice.com then search for dumpling wrapper recipe. Now let’s examine the old favorite, bun. Okay, we going to look at the recipe from KingArthurflour.com. ( On their site look up Beautiful Burger Buns.) The basic classic bun has flour, water, yeast, salt, butter, sugar, egg. That’s a lot of stuff compared to the simple humble dumpling. Of course, you can add any seasonings you want with either one.

Alright, now we have looked at both presentations of the classic burger. A hot burger with with may, ketchup, mustard, cheese covered with lettuce and tomato will always have a place in the American diet. However, we can’t eat that presentation on a regular basis. Then the burger egg roll or dumpling will feed that craving. Without packing on the pounds.

Got an idea for this post on having burgers with less impact on the waists? Post and share.

Hello y'all! I have hit a point in my life that I miss the simple dishes and times that my parents grew up in. People were kind to each other and the food was homemade from scratch. Before convince food was everywhere. Oh, those were the days... Let's reclaim them and start cooking from scratch again.
