After reading this link my eyes and imagination went wild. I have been wondering if I could use a tortilla press to make dumpling wrapers. Yes! Turns out you can. This article lays out how to do it.
She made Dim Sum Dumplings from scratch. Inside of rolling out the dumplings she used a tortilla press. Result: Perfection! The wrapers came off of the pressers as flat as if they’d been rolled out. Tip: if you use a presser, use a ziplock bag to press the dough on. Otherwise you have a mess. Simply cut the top of the bag off and then cut down the sides.
I am beyond happy to know there is a second use for the presser.
