Taste Test: Salmon Freshly cooked vs Prepacked

Over the past two weeks, I have purchased multiple cans and packs of precooked salmon. Then yesterday I decided ‘hey let’s compare the prepacked salmon against the fresh salmon’. What could possibly go wrong other than about a hundred things!!! Well needless to say not only did Antonia not appreciate being a guinea pig but she immediately spotted the difference.

No there was no smell you would associate with prepacked salmon. I tasted fine to me. I am sure in a jam we will be grateful to have it. However, that scenario will be the last recourse. As in nothing else available in the freezer, shelves canned commercially or home-canned. Yeah! The texture was a little off, but otherwise the prepacked is good.

Hello y'all! I have hit a point in my life that I miss the simple dishes and times that my parents grew up in. People were kind to each other and the food was homemade from scratch. Before convince food was everywhere. Oh, those were the days... Let's reclaim them and start cooking from scratch again.
